Our physical body is part of a multidimensional feedback system, an information processing system that involves energy and consciousness. Our bodies result from the carrying out of programs which guide the cells of the body to use their environment to help them create and maintain the physical body. From the moment of conception, an array of programs are accessed to turn that fertilized egg - zygote - into an entire human body. This programming is contained in subtle energy fields that include ancestral morphic fields and soul patterns of memory. As we go through life and interact with our environment we determine which programs we activate and we also alter programs and create new programs to suit our needs.
Conventional medicine usually ignores the consciousness element of this process, the key to mind-body medicine, and instead focuses on manipulating the preceived effects of this system, e.g., using drugs to override biochemical states and surgery to remove dysfunctional organs or tissues. Conventional psychiatry and psychotherapy often focus only on the content of the conscious level of mind and ignore the multiple layers of subconscious content that are greatly influencing a person's life. It's like focusing on the crest of a wave or the tip of an iceberg and ignoring all the mass and/or energetic movement that lies below the surface.
Health cannot be created by putting bandaids over deep wounds or hiding symptoms of distress. These symptoms are messages from our multidimensional self that we need to become aware of our thoughts, feelings, and lifestyle, and resolve things that are out of balance. To some extent, all illnesses can be seen as having psychosomatic roots - a psychological element to their cause. Although a physical trigger for illness may be apparent, it is the individual's reaction to that stimulus (based upon programs/patterns in the individual's consciousness) which accounts for why it triggers illness in some persons but not others.
Whether one studies Chakra Psychology, German New Medicine, Oriental Medicine, Ayurveda, Shamanism, Louise Hay, Placebos, The Law of Attraction teachings, or other approaches that explain or map the mind-body connection, it becomes quite clear that we have the power within our own consciousness to create illness or wellness. Health care can either empower us or disempower us. Health care that empowers us typically leads us to need to seek professional care less often. Health care that disempowers us tends to foster perpetual need for invasive treatments and constant physician management.
Working to balance your consciusness and energy patterns, clearing away old dysfunctional programs, and building a healthy lifestyle can bring you lasting wellness. Ignoring those issues can lead you to be a perpetual dependent of disease management that never actually brings you health. If you don't address the range of factors that are creating dis-ease or dys-function then you can't create wellness and healthy functioning. Begin to learn about how holistic healing has helped many others restore their health and soon your belief and trust in this will be strong and empower you to access resources you need to heal yourself as well.
